Gas Scooter Safety
By Flemming Andersen Having a gas scooter means that you need to take the necessary precautions and learn how to use it safely. You will need to be responsible and make sure that you do a few things before you decide to get on a gas scooter and ride. You want to use common sense to make sure that you are not hurt or even worse. You should make sure that you are wearing the proper gear each time you ride your gas scooter. Safety is very important and there are few necessities that you will have to have in order to make that happen. You need to make sure that you can be seen on the scooter. You should wear bright and reflective clothing. This will make you more noticeable to other people on the road. You need to make sure that you have reflective helmets as well. It is important to wear helmets and kneepads as well. You will need to protect every part of your body when you are on a gas scooter. You should have elbow pads, wrist guards, gloves and good shoes on your feet too. You have to make sure that you are protected well so that you do not get hurt in case you are ever in an accident. The next thing that you need to do is check your scooters equipment. A scooter will need to have more attention than a car. You need to make sure that everything is in good working order before you start to ride. You should check the nuts and bolts and make sure that the steering is working properly. It is also important to inspect the brakes and all the controls of the scooter. Check the frame to make sure that everything is in tact. Always look at the tires and check them for wear and tear. This is a very important part of a scooter and they should be checked often. Always know your gas scooter before you ride. Read and understand all the instructions before you ride. Take note to all the safety and warning labels on the scooter as well. Check the controls and ride cautiously even after you are familiar with the scooter. Another thing to remember when you are riding your gas scooter is to obey all the laws in your area. Know where you are allowed to ride and watch for other motor vehicles. Do not ride in bad weather whenever possible. You should also be aware of riding at night. Never go out on your gas scooter at night without your reflective gear. When you ride safe and obey the rules, you will get a lot of use from your gas scooter. You will be able to enjoy the scooter for a long time and it will make your life a lot easier while adding some fun to it as well. For more info visit: /www.scootergas.info/>About the AuthorTo find the best suited scooter for you, the author provides a detailed website with info and resources on gas scooters.
What’s up with Hybrid Vehicles?
If the price of gasoline has got you scared, and you’re thinking about maybe trading in your car for a moped, you’ve got half the solution right. It might be time to trade in your car, but forget the moped — get a hybrid car instead. The dictionary defines the word hybrid as: Offspring resulting from breeding between parents of two different species, and that’s a good definition for our purposes. That’s because a hybrid car has a power plant that’s a cross between a gasoline powered engine and an electric motor. What’s the big deal about hybrid cars? The automobile industry claims that a hybrid car can give you as much as 20 to 30 miles per gallon more performance than a standard gasoline engine. That means that you buy less gasoline, and buying less gasoline leaves more money in your pocket. You’ll need that extra money, however, because hybrid cars are still relatively expensive compared to traditional gasoline-powered cars. As more hybrid cars are sold, manufacturing prices will drop, and that drop will be seen in the selling price. How does a hybrid car save gasoline? In a typical automobile, the engine is connected to the transmission via a mechanical link called the drive train. When the engine’s sparkplugs fire, they ignite gasoline vapor which pushes a piston up and down. This piston movement gets transferred to the transmission via the drive train. The transmission turns the wheels and the car goes down the road. Well, the hybrid car is almost exactly the same except that in addition to the engine being connected to the transmission, an electric motor is also connected to the transmission. Actually, there are two different versions of hybrid cars. The one that was just described is called a parallel hybrid, because there are two different energy sources connected in parallel to the transmission. The other type of hybrid car is called a series hybrid because the gasoline engine works in series with the electric motor to power the car. This is accomplished by having the gasoline engine either charge the car’s batteries, or power the electric motor. The gasoline engine doesn’t actually turn the car’s wheels at all. The parallel hybrid operates off of the electric motor when the car is being driven below a certain speed, and the gasoline engine kicks in when that speed is exceeded, or when sensors in the car indicate that the driver has accelerated suddenly as if to pass or to avoid an emergency situation. Of course, the gasoline engine is always running even when the electric motor is powering the car, so some gasoline is always being used. The series hybrid is always running off of the electric motor, which restricts the top speed of the car, and the gasoline engine only kicks in when the batteries need to be charged. Like all automotive claims, your mileage may vary. Even so, if you’re looking to spend less money at the gas station, and avoid much of the effect of rising gas prices, you might want to park a hybrid car in your garage.

Igniting a Spark
Your Volvo has thousands of parts in it. Some play a crucial role in the car, while others do not. Some are used all the time, while some are needed only for a specific time. One of the latter is your Volvo’s ignition coil. Also called a spark coil, the ignition coil is an induction coil in the automobile’s ignition system. The Volvo ignition coil transforms a storage battery’s 12 volts into the thousands (which sometimes could reach as high as 120,000 volts) needed to ignite the spark plugs. Invented by A. Kent Atwater in 1921, the ignition coil is a simple transformer that has two sides: the 12 volt or primary side and the high voltage or secondary side. The primary side contains a few hundred turns of a large diameter wire and it builds up the magnetic field in the coils. On the other hand, the high voltage side contains thousands of turns of small diameter wire. The coil uses electromagnetic induction to create the high voltage. When the voltage in the primary side is turned off, the collapsing magnetic field in the secondary side induces a voltage in the secondary side, producing thousands of volts. In older vehicles, a single, large ignition coil would serve all the spark plugs, distributing voltage via an ignition distributor. In modern systems, the distributor is omitted and ignition is controlled electronically, instead. Much smaller coils are used with one coil for each spark plug or one coil serving two spark plugs (so two coils in a four-cylinder car). These coils may be remote-mounted or they may be placed on top of the spark plug (coil-on-plug or direct injection). Where one coil serves two spark plugs (in two cylinders), it is through the “wasted spark” system. In this arrangement, the coil generates two sparks per cycle to both the cylinders. The fuel in the cylinder that is nearing the end of its compression stroke is ignited, whereas, the spark in its companion nearing the end of its exhaust stroke has no effect. The wasted spark system is more reliable than a single coil system with a distributor and cheaper than coil-on-plug. Where the coils are remote mounted, they may all be contained in a single molded block with multiple high-tension terminals. This is commonly called a coil-pack. Your Volvo ignition coils are part of a larger system, which is the ignition system. The ignition system is part of an even larger engine system. The ignition system’s primary responsibility is the timely burning of the fuel-air mixture in the engine. Your Volvo user’s manual would carry the recommended service interval for your ignition system, including your Volvo ignition coil. Your Volvo engine might run rough, buck, surge, stall or even get poor fuel economy. These are signs that your ignition system might need servicing as they are potentially an ignition system problem. When this happens, drive to the nearest Volvo dealership and have a qualified technician take a look around. Your Volvo engine might be in problem in the long run.

Your Mechanic Can Be a Valuable Asset When Purchasing A Used Car
Car dealers are not particularly well liked, and knowing as many of them as I do, I can understand why that might be the case. I run an import shop in Florida that specializes in late model luxury imports. I’ve been in business for quite some time, and I have heard plenty of horror stories from customers regarding other dealerships. In my opinion, I think the majority of car dealerships one will encounter are reputable, by and large. I say “by and large” because some dealers I know use nickel and dime methods to maximize their profits, which I disagree with. Personally, I would rather give the customer a quality auto at a fair price and consequently gain a lifetime customer, but that’s a topic for another article. One of the more recent horror stories I heard involved someone who had purchased a vehicle that was leaking oil. For those of you that know anything about cars, you know that this is nothing to be taken lightly. The customer was assured by the dealership that this older, yet low mileage used car was in pristine condition. Here’s where it gets interesting… Before the sale, the customer asked if she could have the car inspected by her mechanic. The dealership did everything they possibly could to keep that from happening, and succeeded. They told her that they would have their own mechanics do a “twenty point inspection” which would save her the time and expense of having her mechanic take a look. Unbelievable! Since the customer parked her car on a busy street where there were already several oil spots, she never noticed the leaking until after her ridiculously short thirty day warranty was up. Her mechanic would have spotted an oil leak the minute he had the car up on the rack. As disheartening as this story is, there is a valuable lesson to be learned here. Car buyers, unless they are dealing with a dealer they are familiar with and whom they trust, should seriously consider having a mechanic check out any used car they are interested in (preferrably the local certified manufacturer dealer of the automobile make they are considering). I have had several first time customers ask me if they can have the car independently inspected and I am always happy to oblige. Take my word for it, the only dealers who would frown upon independent inspections are those who have something to hide.

Lemon Laws - Documentation Is The Key
There is nothing worse than realizing that the vehicle you purchased is not running the way it should, and in fact this can be downright dangerous. Fortunately, all states have a lemon law which allows consumers to address financial and legal issues that may result if they have bought a defective automobile. A vehicle may be considered a lemon if it continues to have a defect that substantially impairs the vehicle?s use, its value or your safety. Generally, if the car has been repaired 4 or more times for the same defect within the warranty period, and the defect has not been fixed, the car qualifies as a lemon. ?Lemon? is not a term that can be applied simply because you no longer like certain aspects about your car, and it does not refer to all defects the vehicle may have. If the transmission doesn?t work, the car won’t go into reverse, the rear door opens all by itself, the driver’s seat wobbles, or the car can?t reach minimum required highway speed, then you may have a lemon. It is essential however, that the dealer has been given an opportunity to correct the problems before the courts will determine the automobile is a lemon. In most states, ten different defects during the warranty period won?t classify the car as a lemon. In some states, a single defect that might cause serious injury could qualify your car as a lemon; if the manufacturer hasn?t fixed the problem after 1 repair attempt. If you think you may have purchased a lemon car, the key to winning your case is documentation. Keep any receipts and records for the repair of the defects in your vehicle, and any receipts pertaining to the vehicle?s breakdown (such as cab fare). Retain any notes you write to the company, as well as names of employees you have talked to about the problems. Any costs or problems caused by the buyer?s neglect or abuse will be specifically excluded by State Lemon Laws. Purchasing a lemon is an unfortunate but not irreparable circumstance if you follow the correct lemon law procedures. Be diligent with your documentation, even during the frustration. Read your state?s lemon law and follow the documentation requirements to the letter. If you must hire an attorney, this will not only save you tremendous time, but some States provide some portion of attorney?s fee in lemon law resolutions. copyright?2006 conferencewebs.net.

Used Cars In Japan
Japanese Used cars are some of the best selling on the market today because of their reliability and performance Having said that, we find there is a large market for used car parts Some of the dealers have found it profitable to take cars apart, sell the pieces to other dealers, and repair shops around the world Did you know they will even cut a vehicle in half? Yet they keep all the important parts in tact . .They then ship those parts to a dealer that is repairing a car that had been involved in an accident They dismantle badly damaged cars and have separate bins for headlamps, taillights, shocks, fuse boxes, radios Anything that you can think of, that goes into a car, can be salvaged and sold to repair shops around the world Have a steering wheel that won’t unlock? No problem! Go to your nearest repair shop and they can order you the part you need They have a sophisticated database that allows them to search for any part .Its amazing the network they have for finding parts to replace on cars before they sell them They take pride in their work and like to make sure everything is in good working order before they sell The certified inspectors make sure everything will pass the rigid guidelines in each country They have it down to a science the way they can take a car apart and get it ready for shipping anywhere in the world . . .They ship the parts in bins on large cargo ships The containers are anywhere from 20 to 40 ft long and they fill them with bumpers, fenders, half cars, and bins of various parts all headed to the salvage yards just waiting to be pick out to repair your vehicle Just like new once the body shop is done with the paint job you would never know there were two different pieces to this car when it started .
Source: www.rsstnx.com

Pontiac Models Old and New Leave Great Memories
Pontiac is arguably the best all around car that General Motors ever produced Although, it is fair to say that the Cadillac and to some extent the Buick were more readily identified as luxury automobiles, the Pontiac has always been far more than a performance machine . .To the younger generation, the Firebird and its performance cousin the Trans Am are probably the models most readily identified with the brand, but Pontiac dealers (of those that remain!) can certainly testify to the early, glory days of the GTO . .These models were so representative of their era that they became mainstays in the popular culture, with starring roles in box office topping movies like “Smokey and the Bandit” starring Burt Reynolds and popular television series like “The Rockford Files” starring James Garner . .And back in the earlier days of larger cars with enormous tail fins, Pontiac certainly had credible entrants such as the Bonneville and the Catalina . .This classic line-up of models from Firebird, Trans AM, GTO, Bonneville to Catalina were all best-sellers in their day, and the earlier models like the Chieftain with it’s classic Indian (native American) head logo American classics in an earlier era were equally popular before the later Pontiacs that we still see on the street today . .There is no doubt, though, that an underlying theme of these cars from then to now has been performance In recent years, there was a tremendous amount of favorable press for the original launch of the Pontiac G6 and the subsequent arrival of the updated G8, both updates of the classic Pontiac performance car of bygone days . .And it is certainly lamentable that General Motors pulled the plug on the entire Pontiac brand before the general public could become more aware and knowledgeable about these significant new entrants into the Pontiac family, and before their true sales potential could be reached . .Hopefully, there will be an ongoing and vital market for Pontiac used cars and certainly at least some Pontiac dealers may be able to successfully transform their businesses into repair centers and continue to supply enthusiasts with genuine parts for them . .The loving restoration of classic Pontiacs from the past and present will no doubt grow in popularity and cult status once new models are no longer rolling off the assembly lines . .While General Motors may have pulled the plug on the brand, Pontiac can live on forever through our memories, which are now all the more poignant knowing the clock is ticking on this classic car brand .
Source: www.rsstnx.com

How to Find a Trucking Job
The demand for truckers is very high, and it is relatively easy for most qualified truckers to find steady work. Nonetheless, some researchers estimate that as many of 15% of drivers, even those with extensive experience, get disqualified when applying for a trucking position. Why are so many truckers getting turned away if the need for trucker is so high? It all has to do with being organized. The key to landing a trucking job is being prepared and knowing what to expect when seeking a trucking job. Most often, truckers start the hiring process by speaking to a trucking recruiter. Recruiters frequently hire only for one company (the company they work for themselves), so it may be to your advantage to shop around and talk to a number of different recruiters to find the position that is the best fit for you. If you do speak with a number of recruiters, be sure to take notes so you can keep track of who said what. Never lie to a recruiter when seeking a trucking job. The truth will come out eventually and it is much better that you be completely honest from the beginning, even if it means disclosing some negative information, than to lie and get caught for it later. Recruiters will ask you for a variety of information, so be sure to have the following on hand: - A current, non-expired CDL with an accurate home address - Your work history for at least the last 3 years (some recruiters may want 5 or 10 years of history). If you have been unemployed for some of this time, you will need to provide solid professional references to account for this period. - The names and contact information for all of your former employers. - Proof of your work history including old W2 tax forms, reference letters, or DOT numbers. This information will be especially helpful if any of the companies you worked for previously have since gone out of business. - A copy of your driving record or MVR - Proof of eligibility to work in the United States. You will be required to complete an I-9 form upon hire, so be sure you have valid documentation to show that you are eligibly for hire. New Homeland Security regulations require that al commercial truckers undergo a background check prior to being hired. As part of this check, companies will pull any criminal records and copies of your Motor Vehicle Driving record from all states in which you have a driver s license (commercial or non-commercial). Companies will also see a copy of your DAC report which will reveal previous driving jobs, any accidents in which you were involve, and notes of any problems with former employers. If there is anything on your record that might be questionable, it is very important that you disclose this to the recruiter right away. It is much better to be professional and proactive upfront than to have the recruiter undercover some nasty information on their own. A potential employer is going to need to know about any incidents, or accidents, for at least the previous three years. Be sure to hold onto all incident records, including accident reports and tickets, so that you can provide this documentation if needed. Nearly all reputable companies will also require that you undergo a drug screening, so be prepared to certify that you are drug-free and take a drug test on the spot if you are offered a position. Your offer will be contingent upon the successful results of the test. If there is anything about your past (or current) medical health that might bring up concerns about your ability to perform your duties as a trucker, be prepared to show a doctor s note that releases you to work. Although, by law, recruiters cannot ask about your medical health prior to offering you a position, an offer can be rescinded if you are not able to certify your ability to do the job. If you have recently had a medical ailment, surgery, or are taking any sort of prescription medicine, chances are high that you will be required to present a medical doctor s release noted that you are cleared for commercial tractor trailer driving with no restrictions. Finally, be prepared to a road test and pass the necessary DOT physical upon receiving an offer. If you haven t been behind the wheel in a while, make sure you brush up on your driving skills. You will not get a second test to take the test if you fail it so you want to be sharp the very first time to step into the company s cab. Although the hiring process to secure a trucking job may be long and tedious, the payoff is well worth your effort. So if you ve made it though all of these steps successfully, congratulations. You re hired!Laura Adams is a qualified careers advisor with 11 years experience. <a href="http://www.Truck-Driving-Job.info">Truckers Jobs Information</a> - Resources, News, Tips and Views to help Truck Drivers find their next jobs. http://www.Truck-Driving-Job.info Copyright Truck-Driving-Job.info This article may be reproduced as long as the resource box and live links remain intact.
Source: www.ArticlePros.com

Replacing Ford Headlights
How horrible would it be one day to wake up and realize you don?t have any headlights? I think it would be pretty bad, it would not be safe to even drive your car if your headlights are broken or don?t work. Your lights are one of the parts that will last you a long while. But since they are on the exterior they are exposed to elements that can be damaging. They can loose their original luster. You can give your Ford vehicle a new fresh look by changing the grille, mirror, taillights, Ford hood and spoiler. It is really simple and easy to replace Ford parts, especially the lights. The reason for that is Fords popularity. A good place to look for the parts is Ford Parts Online; they are one of the most trusted auto parts dealers on the internet. So check them out if you need to replace any parts on your Ford vehicle. But let?s go back to your Ford lights. It?s quite easy to change them yourself, just follow my directions and you?ll be on the road again. First remove the exposed plastic or metal trim around the housing to get the headlight ring and screws. Using the right tools remove the four ring screws. Be careful, because it is pretty easy to strip them. Put some penetrating oil on each one for a few minutes. Also be sure not to turn the headlight-aiming screws. Once you remove the retaining ring the headlight will be free. Just unplug the wiring connector that is in the back of the headlamp. Then plug back the connector into the back of new headlight then place it in the mounting base. The headlight will position itself due to lugs in the back, but if it doesn?t then that means you have it upside down. Turn on the new headlight to see if it is working. If it doesn?t come on it probably means there is a problem with the wiring. You next step would be to replace the retaining ring. But again, be careful about the screws. The last thing would be to replace the trim elements that you had to remove.
What A Load Of …
Non-truckers often don?t stop and think about the trucking industry and the many trucking companies that help keep the economy going. Without those big rigs hauling various loads, whether it is gasoline, office supplies or grocery items, this country would be at a stand still. Where do you think the gasoline you pump comes from? What about that package of diapers you are buying your child? How did they get on the shelves? The answer: a big truck delivers all of that and much more! Let?s talk about the various types of trucks that you might encounter on the roads. Each one is different because the loads of cargo are different. For example, the same truck that delivers your favorite ice cream brand to the grocery store will not be the same type of truck that delivers office supplies to the local discount store. By the same token, you will have a trucking company that might specialize in the delivery of one certain type of product over the other. Possibly one of the most hair-raising trucks on the road today is the one that hauls vehicles. You know ? those car carriers where you just KNOW that one of those vehicles are going to come loose and fly off onto the hood of your car! Or how about the tanker trucks that haul fuel or other hazardous products like fertilizers and chemicals? Truckers who drive these types of trucks probably have nerves of steel. Not only do they have to worry about safety precautions for their own loads they are hauling, but they also have to keep an eye on some of the crazy drivers on the road and always be on the lookout for potential hazards. Some trucking companies specifically handle household or office moving. Think of those families that sell their homes and move half way across the country. Truckers that handle that type of load not only have to be careful of these household items due to insurance issues but also have to have great customer service skills to handle these stressed out people making this move. There are many other types of trucks on the roads today. Flatbed carriers, refrigerated trucks, dry van carriers and even those trucks that carry livestock ? non-truckers encounter some of these every day on the roads. We all should be cognizant of the fact that these trucking companies and truckers literally drive the economy. They have a tough load to carry and without them doing their jobs, we could not do our own.

Advantages Of Diesel Engines
If you wanted to own a new car powered by a diesel engine or if you own one now, you no doubt appreciate the qualities this engine provides you with. More torque, better fuel economy, and easier maintenance are but a few of the attributes of owning diesel powered vehicles . However, there are some motorists that still complain about the engine’s weak power, especially when accelerating from a full stop. What you may not be aware of is the fact that a diesel engine can be tweaked to give more power without harming the fuel economy . New diesel engines cars use air compression to create combustion versus the fuel/air mixture that is required by gas engines. This attribute means that diesel engines don’t require spark plugs and therefore don’t need to be tuned up . Diesel fuel has a much high fuel density than gas, which results in fuel economy increases of 20 - 30% over gasoline powered vehicles . Diesel engines are also cheaper to maintain as they have less parts than that of a gasoline powered engine. The life span of a diesel engine is also much longer . If you’re looking for torque, for pulling a boat or other equipment, then the diesel engine has the supreme advantage. Diesel engines are surely slower, especially when starting from a dead stop, although when you climb hills or go over bridges, the diesel engine is surely up to the task . With new trucks, diesel is normally the leader over gas engines in terms of performance and miles per gallon. Diesel trucks will get more miles than gas trucks, and the price for diesel is a bit cheaper than gas these days . And with gas prices on the rise, diesel will continue to dominate for a long time to come . http://www.new-carpurchase.blogspot.comDiesel engines are also cheaper to maintain as they have less parts than that of a gasoline powered engine.
Houston Craigslist Cars
Houston Craigslist cars is a rapidly growing trend for on-line used cars shopping. I will start by briefly introducing Craigslist to those unfamiliar with it, then will focus on Houston Craigslist cars. Craigslist, a local community for classifieds and forums that targeted started in early 1995, and 8 years later became the 7th most visited website on the world wide web. It basically follows the concept of the classifieds section in your local newspapers. The listings are posted by product sellers, and service providers, then browsed by those interested in the products or services. Some think of it a virtual swap meet or flee market. An advantage that puts the website over traditional methods, and other virtual shopping centers is that as of July 2007 the listings are free, therefore the seller doesn’t have to raise the price to compensate for the listing cost, and that you can also use it to try and sell, or trade your own car for free. I have personally listed cars for sale on craiglist, and have also bought cars, car parts, and even show tickets. However, I was very caution, because there were no guarantees what so ever, and the seller had nothing to worry about such as a rating or a craiglist reputation. The seller can write anything about the car, and if the buyers is not willing to do their homework and research about this specific car, once a bill of sale is made, and and AS IS form is signed the seller is not liable for anything, especially that they can claim the description was to the best of their knowledge. I have personally contacted sellers and inquired about their cars, pretending not to know much about the car, and as you would expect, some immoral dealers, or private sellers to advantage of it, and tried as much as possible to hide information until their faced with it. I have decided to dedicate a series of articles to educate the car shoppers about Houston Craigslist cars. I will include the scams to watch out for, how to research the history of the car listed, and the different tricks the car dealers are using to take advantage of the search mechanism. Visit the section I dedicated my website you are interested in obtaining more information about Houston craigslist cars. Copyright - 2007 Khalid R.
Government Siezed Car Auctions
Every month the government collects 1000s of siezed cars, atv’s,buses, dirt bikes, trucks, motorcycles, campers, vans, and even aircraft! Where do they get them from? Many federal, state and local law enforcement agencies sieze these vehicles from criminals. They have tons and tons of vehicles on hand and need room so they offer auctions to interested people, people just like you and me. These items need to go fast, so the auctions can start from $100 or less! Lending institutions such as banks and the like also repossess many houses and businesses from people who dont keep up with their payments. They also put these items up for auction at unbelievably low prices. Anybody can get into these auctions and purchase the house or vehicle of their dreams. Where do you find government auctions? Usually the government auctions are held either locally or nationaly and they are mostly held in the same places all the time. You can search through your morning newspaper and maybe come across an auction. They are usually held on the same dates every year, so finding one in your local newspaper might take some time. A tip thats certainly worth mentioning is the simple fact that you should always do your research before going into any type of auction, especialy one that involves either homes, property or vehicles. Find out the items history and value and then decide if its worth going to an auction. Find out what type of vehicles you are interested in first, then look for all the information you can before getting into the auction. Remember this tip: Dont get caught up in a car auction hurricane! Dont keep bidding and bidding on something that might not be worth it. Thats why doing your research is so important. You will need to pay for the item after the auction at the auction sites specified time period. Make sure you dont over bid for something that isn’t worth the money. Everything you get from these auctions will most certainly be used, so dont get suckered in to a bidding hurricane. To find these auctions you may have to check out a national newspaper or ask the federal, state, or local agencies when and where they will be having thier next auction. Also, dont forget to check with all the banks in your area when their next auction will be. Most banks have branches all over the country so you may be able to find some really great deals that you normally couldnt get from your part of town. There are also some online government and bank agency auctions. These will charge you some money, on average around $50.00. But they do all the work for you, which is a plus. If you are new to auction, you may want to do extensive research on this topic as well. Here are some guidelines for your car auctions ventures-by all means, this isnt a complete list, but it lists some auction basics. For a more indepth look into auctions you should do some research at your local library or the internet. Yankee Auctions: This is an auction where the seller will list many of the same items. The winning bidders will pay their highest bid. Reserved Auctions: The seller will set a reserve price for the goods. If the bidders dont achieve this price, the seller can refuse to sell. The seller has a choice on whether to disclose the price of the item or not. Private Auctions: Bidders do not have to give their identities in this auction.Proxy Bidding Auctions: Proxy bidding is where the seller sets the highest price that they are willing to pay. Their bid is increased in increments until either they have won the auction, the auction ran higher than their highest bid, or somebody else won the auction. On Site Auction: These type of auctions are held by companies who have items that are much too large or costly to ship to an auction house. The bidders will have to go to the place of business for this type of auction. Hammer Price Auctions: This is a type of auction that stops when the auctioneer decides that the price has been met. Dutch Auctions: This auction is where the seller auctions off all of the same kind of items. The winning bidders of this auction only has to pay the lowest price that was bid on.Appraisal: An appraisal is when an auctioneer has looked over the item(s) and decided on the price from the condition it is in and from the extensive research the auctioneer has done on that type of item. American Auction: This is an auction where the seller submits many items for the same price. The winning bidder is someone who gives the highest bid for the most items. Absolute Auction: This is an auction where the seller submits an item and cannot put a reserve price on it. Sealed Bid Auctions: These auctions are done with the utmost secrecy. The bidders submit thier bids by envelopes and the envelopes are opened at a predermined time and place of the auction. Absentee Bids: These auctions are held for people who do not want to attend the auction. They simply submit thier bids, or have someone else do it for them, before the auction starts.
